Update Coming Soon Monday, May 24, 2010

This summer I'm going to set aside some time to update the information presented here.

Including the camp grounds we stayed in, recommended hikes, and places to see. Plus a little info on the best gear and what worked for us.

I will also get more photos uploaded and update with more information.

El Tarasco in Visalia Saturday, May 01, 2010

If you are visiting the city of Visalia, and I would recommend staying there for a night or two and using the great shuttle bus service to Sequoia National Park for some camping or even a day trip or two.

We spent a week camping, and when we got back we visited one of the best Mexican restaurants we have ever been to, including some very tasty margaritas! So when in the city drop by El Tarasco, and ask them about their delicious salsa dip. Staff are great, very helpful and even offer some cooking suggestions and tips.

More information on the bus service:

Blog

Blogger changed the way blogs are posted, FTP is no longer supported. Have it working now, but more work is needed, plus the entire site needs an update.

Not sure when I'll have an opportunity to this, but will try over the summer months.

Zion for Sale! Saturday, April 12, 2008

An area of land inside Zion National Park has been purchased by a couple from California and they are building a house inside the park. The area within the park was for sale and the NPS wanted to purchase it, but lacked the money to do so, mainly due to complete lack of money injected into the NPS since 2000.

WNYC featured a piece on this yesterday on their Living on Earth show which you can listen to.
